This USB adapter is for powering the Ecosoft P1-meter.
An SMR5 smart meter can power the Ecosoft P1-meter via the P1 port. In that case, you don’t need an USB adapter. This adapter is included without extra charge with the variant “P1-meter WiFi + Ethernet (with USB adapter)”. Also in that case, you won’t need to order an USB adapter on this page.
When do you need an USB adapter?
• You’ll need the adapter for variant “P1-meter WiFi only (without USB adapter)” if the P1 port of your smart meter cannot power the P1-meter.
• You’ll need the adapter for variant “P1-meter WiFi + Ethernet & PoE (without USB adapter)” if in your situation Power over Ethernet (PoE) is not available and your smart meter cannot power the P1-meter.
When is a smart meter able to power the Ecosoft P1-meter?
An SMR5 smart meter supports powering the P1-meter via de P1 port. SMR2 and SMR4 meters do not support this. They do have a P1 port and are compatible with our P1-meter, but need to be powered via USB or PoE (power over ethernet). See Slimme meters (Dutch) for more information.
